One of the most hotly debated topics in Protestant circles is the doctrine of infant baptism, the practice of baptizing the infant children of professing believers. As we are unapologetically baptists, we disagree with this practice and believe that it goes against scripture and causes many problems in the church.
In this episode, we look at some of the issues caused by the practice of infant baptism, such as how it divides the church body, creating two covenants, two baptisms, two memberships, all of which leads to a host of problems. And while we don’t expect this episode to resolve the differences between Baptists and our Presbyterian brothers, we do believe that it is worth continued debate and discussion. One of the ways that we achieve unity in Christ is through truth and right doctrine, and setting important issues aside or saying that there is no right answer does not move us toward unity.
